To their slight Jewish heritage - Andrew is 1/8 Jewish (his great grandma), making our childre 1/16th Jewish. Maybe that's why the girls innately knew to place the nursing pads they were playing with (and went to bed with, they're very attached to them despite my efforts to take them away) on Alden as a yarmulke (you have to look closely at the left side of his head).
Apparently it wasn't their innate knowledge of Jewish custom - just a love for things on the head. :)
