Andrew's headed out of town for interviews Thurs at 6A to return Fri night (Sat AM) at 1A - Minneapolis, St. Louis. Then he's off Sunday afternoon again, to return Tuesday night - DC, St. Louis. Pray for him as he travels, interviews , and starts making decisions about our family's future. Pray for me as I'm home alone with the girls. The one overnight alone I did with them a couple weeks ago was EXHAUSTING! They're always this cute, but can be pretty demanding.

Happy Thanksgiving
Grandma, Grandpa, Matt, Michael, and Peter Shenk all came up from Cleveland for the day since I had to work W and F (Sarah, we missed you! Hope your Turkey-less Thanksgiving turned out well). Anna and Kara had a fun time - their shoes didn't last beyond the picture though, Dad said they were too hard to manage.

Grandma Shenk babysits 11/17
A, K. They look sleepy because it was almost 1 AM (usual bedtime 10:30 or 11, so not as late as it might seem). They were so excited they couldn't sleep, I guess!

Hugs...
Anna in pink. This was a few weeks ago. They always try to reach each other and give hugs now when they're across from each other.

and Kisses
Anna "kissing" Kara. Well, maybe trying to eat her, but we'll pretend it's kisses. This is another favorite pastime when the girls get together. Lately I have to explain that we save kisses on the mouth for boyfriends, and that they're never going to have any boyfriends, so they should just stop practicing. :)

Posting (K, A)
Several people have told me they check our blog daily, which is making me feel bad that I post not nearly that frequently. To all of you who do check that regularly, I'm going to try to do fewer posts more often, rather than going in sprees of 10 posts in a day. They're changing so fast, anyway, that if I don't post things as they happen, they're not worth posting because they've moved on to the next thing.

Chubsters
Anna in blue pants. Showing off their little baby guts. Their weight for length at their last MD appointment puts them about at the 75th percentile...fatter than 75% of the babies their length. Just the way I like them! :)

Thanksgiving
No matter what our struggles are these days, they are nothing compared to that. God has blessed us with 2 beautiful, sweet girls, and I am thankful that He brought us through that time and continues to bless all 4 of us each day as He grows Kara and Anna. I tell you a million times a day, but - Love you babies! I'm proud to be your mom.

Michigan Football
So, being from Ohio, I obviously prefer Ohio State over Michigan, and you can't like them both. But...we had been gifted these cute Michigan tees, and last weekend went to friends' for the Michigan-Wisconsin game. Since I wasn't going to dress the girls in Michigan wear for yesterday's Ohio State-Michigan game, last weekend was their only chance.
Andrew and I went to the game and froze our wet butts off-it was my first Big 10 football game. I think that we and the other 112,000 people were unimpressed by the game, and I'm not at the point yet where I think it was worth it to go stand around in the near freezing, raining weather listening to profanity from a lot of drunk kids, but Andrew really wanted me to go with him, and I try to be a good wife, at least some of the time. :)
(Anna, Kara) Kara, Anna
Anna, very appropriately (especially after yesterday's game) giving the thumbs-down to Michigan. Boo Michigan! :)
Anna can't decide, and has now decided to cheer for Michigan. Maybe next year.

The Tragedies
Since there are probably more tragedies than triumphs at this point, thought I'd share these funny shots. Kara, then Anna. I guess it's unrealistic to expect them to stand and sit on their own for too long at 4 months, even if we wish they would. They're getting better, though!

Anna's a Dancing Machine
Standing on the couch is one of dad's new fun things to do with the girls. I've actually only ever seen pictures. Sorry so many pictures, but the series is just too cute. I especially like the one where it looks like she's flexing (even though it's blurry).

Kara - October 28th
The girls are motor mouths these days. This video is a good example (you may have to turn the volume up, the webcam is not the best at picking up sound). They will literally jabber for 10 minutes straight, sometimes almost yelling the whole time. Kara started a while ago, and Anna started a week or 2 later. Haven't been able to capture Anna on video yet, though - she doesn't like to perform for the camera.

Girls Playing - October 26th
They love grabbing each other the most. Sometimes dangerous, since they don't know how to be gentle, not to poke eyes, etc.

October Skills
Kara and Anna mid-month. This was huge progress. They used to HATE being on their bellies, and Andrew counts it as a personal victory that they really don't mind anymore. He spent a lot of time training them! :)
Kara by the end of the month. She's a pro. This past week she's been trying to scoot to get the toys she wants. And rolling a ton (back to front, also for toys).
