Church - Anna, Kara

Dressed up for church last Sunday - tried out headbands someone gave us - headbands with no hair is not my favorite look for babies - these headbands really made me laugh! They were worn for the picture only, and good thing - when I took them off, the girls had marks on their heads from where they'd been, which can't have been comfortable!

Our Cuties

Just some favorite shots from September. Finally caught up with all of the back pictures!

Anna, Kara - you can really see how different they look in this picture!

Here's that Pierce baby smile!

Kara, Anna - staring at their mobile, wearing boy clothes (Dad picked them out) and REALLY looking like boys :)

Stripe suits - Kara, Anna

Here they're looking pretty similar...tricky!

The mobile is the only way we get anything done sometimes!

Sitting up on the couch - Anna, Kara - Kara looks mad because Anna can't really sit up and so is totally slumped over on her!

Looking like twins - a lot of times they are in the exact same position at the exact same time without knowing it, like here. Pretty crazy!

First time being home alone with Mom that they both behaved - that took about 3 days to accomplish!

Concentrating and hard at "work"

Uncle Matt Visits

Kara (first picture) and Anna appreciated Uncle Matt spending the night in Ann Arbor when he had a hockey tournament in Toledo a couple weeks ago. It was nice to spend time with him, since he hasn't spent as much time with our girls. His request that they be wearing dresses when he arrived clearly wasn't met, but he liked them anyway!

Anna - Our Shenk Baby

Anna looks a lot like me, and she looks really a lot like her Uncle Peter did when he was a baby! My mom says we pretty much all looked the same when we were babies, anyway...

Someone from our church watched them for a few hours when Andrew and I both had to be at work...figured we'd better label one, just in case! :)

Kara - Our Pierce Baby

Kara definitely looks like a Pierce. When she was born I had a hard time believing she was my baby! You can especially tell when she smiles - she has the Pierce baby goofy grin. :)

Ready to take notes

Fell asleep precariously perched after eating

She was really happy to be sitting up on the couch like this!

Playing with Dad (Kara green, Anna pink)

Andrew got a lot of cute shots one day when I was at work - I miss my girls, but it's nice to get a little break, too, and I know they have a lot of fun with Dad! Every time I come home, he has a lot of great new pictures to show me.

Goofballs - Kara, Anna

Pouting Poutsters

They look so cute to me when they pout! Both pics - Kara on left, Anna on right

This doubles as one of the first times that they wore pants (very exciting!), which was the occasion for the photo

Babies at Church

There were 4 girls born in July...Ryann Kangas on July 11th, Kara and Anna on July 13th, and Selah Dowell on July 27th! Baby Noah Reeves is the old man of the clan, born way back in the spring.

Meeting an Astronaut

Our church had a really nice event for college/young people last Friday at the Lousmas' home. Jack Lousma was an astronaut who worked on SkyLab and used to have the record for the longest time spent in space. Anna and Kara were really well behaved and were the stars of the show (apart from Mr. Lousma, of course!)

A Late Night Walk

It got a little chilly for a week or so, so we got to try out some fall clothes for a walk one night after Kristan got home from work.

Happy Birthday Mom

Kristan turned 27 (really old!) on September 5th. The girls got dressed up and helped Dad write a birthday note. What great presents!

Labor Day Weekend

World-travelers Anna and Kara made it their 4th state (going to Chicago covered 2) when we visited Kristan's family in Cleveland. It was the first time we had seen them since the girls were 1 week old or younger, and it was fun to show them how big they'd gotten! Mom and Dad went out to dinner by themselves, leaving the girls for the first time in the expert care of their grandma and Uncle Mike.
