Well, Kristan's been 28 now for a couple of days. This year has definitely been challenging. The girls are a lot of fun but also a lot of work. The girls and I are extremely lucky that she is staying home with them. I thought I would catalog a small portion of the qualities that make her a great wife, mother and person.
- great teacher (the girls' comprehension skills are amazing)
- patient with the girls (they are toddlers), and with me (sometimes I'm no better than a toddler)
- selfless (how this comes so naturally to her, I'll never know)
- forgiving (this is very helpful for a marriage)
- funny (this is also very helpful for a marriage)
- insightful (she understands the girls so well)
- resilient and persistent
- dependable
- careful observer
- stickler for fairness
- honest/forthright
You make me smile and laugh. You know me better than I know me at this point, which is a little disconcerting but definitely helpful when I'm trying to figure out, you know, my future. The girls and I could not hope for a better mom and wife. Kristan, I love you very much and I'm thankful for you. Happy birthday (weekend)!
