My birthday was Friday, which was, as mentioned, the day of the girls' doctor appointment. It was a cold day (lower 60s) and rainy in the morning, and we drove 1/2 an hour in the rain to get 4 shots and a bunch of blood drawn each. They are getting skinnier percentile-wise (21# and 22#, 30-some and 50th percentile, but their heights are a little more than they had been, at 50th and 75th percentile). What a difference a pound makes - Anna feels like such a peanut compared to Kara, and is 3/4" shorter. We then drove home and the girls decided to never nap (I usually get 2 hours to myself). We went to the park and had fun. They went to bed at 4:30 and Andrew and I got pizza from my favorite place and hung out (and the girls got up at 4:30 the next morning, of course).
Saturday we mostly just hung out, then went to a BBQ for A's work in the evening. Then today we just hung out some more (and I noticed that each of their 4th molars popped through). Andrew helped a ton with the girls, let me relax and sleep more than usual, and all in all, it was a good weekend - just got off to a bad start...I decided that at the age of 28 that I should just get over expecting my birthday to be a "special day," especially now that I'm a mom! :)
Fun at the doctor's office - rearranging the furniture, the girls' new favorite activity, and creating a cubby out of the step stool they flipped over in their rearranging (this was before the shots and blood).
Running around outside Saturday morning. When they run, K's arms always flap and her little booty jiggles - it's hilarious. They love to "drive" their sticks, too.
They recently discovered this groundcover next door, and have taken to climbing up the little hill in their front lawn to turn around and sit down in it. Not sure why they love it so much (maybe because it has flowers in it?)
