Update Part 2

Anna developed a rash tonight (or maybe sometime today...it was the first time I had put them in clothes in a few days since when Anna was so hot I left them both just diapered...after they got undressed we noticed the rash). I called my mom to ask what she thought and she suggested that Anna might have scarlet fever. I had scarlet fever when I was little, and the more I thought about it and read about it, the more it made sense to me - so now I feel like she has it. Also, in reading the scarlet fever stuff I read something that said a symptom could be not opening the mouth all the way - not that I think it's particulary a sign that she has SF, but it was the first that I thought about her unwillingness to open her mouth as a sign that her throat hurt - I was just getting really frustrated with her stubborness in refusing to eat. It will be so much easier when they can tell me what hurts/what's going on!

When they're tired they started laying themselves down on the ground and resting. This was the first time they had done it and they were hilarious. If only this would translate to actually going to sleep...the pictures below were them playing at a friend's hours later.

So sorry to hear Anna is sick! Sophia had a high fever a few weeks back and developed a bad rash on her tummy and back, big red blotches. Is that what Anna has? We took her to the doctor and he said it was probably part of the virus causing the fever and that it would also be aggravated by heat. It is still somewhat visible and flares up at times, I think with heat. Strange.. I don't know, maybe Anna has the same virus.
I also had to empathize with your mean lady in the plane story. I have had quite a few stories like that in the plane, where you just wonder how people can stand themselves being so mean!!! Sorry you had to go through that too. This time on the flight to Zurich I asked my parents to get Sophia a separate ticket because I couldn't stand the thought of being subjected to mean people or simply no empty seats. 9 hours of a squirmy toddler on the lap when you're traveling alone sounded too scary..
