Not Quite...

Back in action. Anna and I both got sick on the plane. Mine was just a 36 hour or so cold, which was annoying the day I couldn't bend over without a kleenex since I have to bend over a lot with 2 little bitties, but not terrible. Anna's had a pretty high fever since the middle of the night on Sunday night...which is the longest she's had a fever. She was really scary the other day - she was so hot that she was convulsing a bit (more like jerking involuntarily) and that woke her up at 3 AM. We were up for an hour and a half giving her medicine (tricky since she hates it), holding her, trying to calm her down, I took a cool bath with her since she wouldn't let me think about putting her down, etc. Luckily she was at least a little better in that time frame, or else we were thinking about taking her to the ER - it was her second so hot she was shaking episode of the day. Kara woke up for the party, but she has been such a little darling since we got back, so she just walked around and played by herself and was a little jealous of Anna and me in the bath, but got over it. I thought the fever had broken a few hours later, since that was the first time she had felt normal temperature (usually the medicine just takes her to very hot in temples only instead of on fire, everywhere), but she was back to her new normal extra hot as soon as it wore off. I hope she feels better soon - she's mostly acting okay, but today she won't really eat anything or drink any juice - lots of cheerios and that's it (apart from BF, I'm glad I haven't tried to start weaning yet) - and that makes me worried, and she's extra clingy - which is nice in some regards, since she has never been a snuggly one (they haven't let us cradle them from day 1 and Anna only had about a 2 month stretch 10 months ago when she preferred being held to playing) - but she's very possessive of me and cries and pushes Kara away if Kara even acts like she's going to come sit with me or wants to be held.

What a melodramatic story, huh? First-time mother worries of a born worrier with eternal extra worries from having had twins with slight initial feeding issues...in my defense, we have been blessed to have only endured 2 colds per child over the last 13 months, so this is as bad as it has been. Pray for our little Nan if you think of it...we sure have been!

Sweet little Anna in happier days modeling the birthday dress she got from Uncle Mike. I miss her crazyness and silliness and adventuring all ready.

Sweet little Kara also in birthday dress from Uncle Mike and looking like the darling she is. Is it bad if I don't even remember where all their head bruises come from anymore?

so sorry to hear about the sickness. that is scary, but amazing that this is the first time you've had to deal with the high fever and everything. how great that they both have gone 13 mo with only a couple little colds. hope everyone gets better soon. i'd love to get together when you're back to normal! :)
