You may know that I am obsessed with fairness. (If not, surprise! It's one of my 8000 quirks that I try to keep hidden). I have been forever - my mom likes the story that I used to count out Goldfish to make sure my brothers and I had the exact same amount.
Maybe that's why I have twins, so that this can play itself out on a daily basis. Apart from preferring that they have the same or similar toys to play with so that 1 isn't missing out...
Andrew laughs at me (and I guess it's laughable), but I try to be really (perhaps excessively) fair to them. Same # of bites of food, same # of cheerios, even down to the same # of hugs and kisses. Maybe they'll appreciate this, or maybe they'll become obsessed with fairness like their mom, and have a dad (like mine) who tells them - "Life is not fair" a lot. Only time will tell.
