Sorry today was not a great 1st Father's Day for various reasons - mainly that it was all spent in the car. Your daughters and I love you very much. I could not ask for a better father for my daughters. Well, okay, I could ask for, and sometimes do - I have to ask your forgiveness a lot when it comes to parenting! I do know I couldn't get a better father if I did ask.
A review of your past almost a year as a father...
When the babies were first born they hated me, and loved you so much. You were the only one who could get them to calm down, sleep, etc. You took them for many late late late night walks when they were screaming so that they would sleep and I could sleep a tiny bit. You had a whole month at home with us, and I would not have survived without that. I don't think I changed a diaper for a good 3 weeks. It took a few days of you being gone at school before the babies would let me hold them both without one of them crying - they missed their dad! We then entered the stay-at-home dad era 2 days a week. They tried your patience by hating eating, making you rock them simultaneously to get them to go to sleep, and played and played all day with their nice dad. You taught them things like how to hold up their heads, not to hate lying on their bellies, etc. There was a drought of baby love for a while - they said mama and gave me kisses long before they said dada and would give you kisses - but they've come around, and now say dad all the time and give you kisses upon request, and sometimes without prompting. As we enter the era of stay-at-home mom and working dad, we'll all miss the time that you get to spend with them and the bonding you do (Especially now that you'll have less time to train our righty Anna's pitching arm; I still think KJP might be a southpaw).
Andrew William, you're the best - it's been rough - and I couldn't do it without you! Thank you for your support, love, and encouragement from your 3 girls. Most importantly, thank you for your heart - that you want to be and strive to be the best dad and husband are true blessings. Love love love you!
XOXO all your silly babies
